On heavy laid Whatman paper watermarked 1815. ********** A document certifying the marriage of John Gordon Esq., widower, and Marie Victoire Blane Spinster in 1809, as well as the subsequent baptisms of children. Signed by Samuel Ford "Samford" Whittingham, Governor. Whittingham is best known for his service in the Napoleonic Wars and his service in India. In 1819, he accepted the Lieutenant-Governorship of Dominica.
