MARITIME DOCUMENTS. Two early-19th-century autograph letters signed. Comprising: A letter sent to Jonathan Russell, 'Minister for the United States of America at the Court of England, London,' dated at Dover, July 24, 1812, from a Mr. Adams 'of the American Ship Robinsonova from Dunkirk', requesting help with getting a passport (one sheet folded, 15 1/2 x 9 1/2 in.); and a letter also to Jonathan Russell, dated at Dunkirk, January 3, 1815, from William Mooers (one sheet folded, 15 1/2 x 9 1/2 in., with wax seal). Both letters are in an envelope postmarked Boston, June 30, 1900, inscribed, 'Old Letters Wm. Mooers John Adams'. The Adams letter is inscribed 'John Adams' on the verso.
