RFK After JFK Assassination Thanks Jackie's Assistant Handling Condolence Mail
Typed Letter Signed, on "The Attorney General" letterhead, Washington D.C., dated "April 16, 1964," written to Frances Keyes just after the assassination of JFK thanking her for the "Time and effort you put in on Jackie's mail." Keyes was one of the many assistants tasked with handling Jackie Kennedy's mail after the assassination of President Kennedy. In fine condition, with expected folds from mailing, slight toning, but boldly signed. The TLS measures 7" x 9."

"Dear Fran,
Many thanks for your nice note. I enjoyed seeing you and the girls at the Ritz and certainly appreciate al the time and effort you put in on Jackie's mail. We couldn't have managed without you!

Provenance: Helen Mary Keyes, who worked many roles for John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, and the Kennedy Library.
Helen Mary Keyes had long and storied ties to the Kennedy family. Her father was the dentist to Joe and Rose Kennedy?s children and the families? children became friends. Helen played a major role in JFK?s 1952 Senate campaign, hosting famous ?Ladies? Teas? for the rising star of the Democratic Party.
