Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita - Tumaco, ca. 350 BCE to 350 CE. A fine hand-formed figure depicting a seated warrior holding a flat object in a tunic. The warrior is adorned with a cuff bracelet, beaded necklace, ear spools, and a turban like headdress. The figure has a firing vent hole at the rear of the head. This type of figure was typical for use in ceremonies and funeral burials. Size: 6 7/8” Tall, 3 1??4” Wide, 3 1/8” Deep. The figure is missing a nose and left foot. Repair to right foot.
