Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran and eastern Turkey, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A remarkable ensemble of 6 bronze examples from ancient Luristan - 3 cloak pins, 2 jars, and 1 cuff bracelet - all enveloped in thick layers of green, blue, and russet-hued patina. The 3 cloak pins all present with slender, tapering bodies and heavy pinheads. The largest displays a bulb-shaped head, while 1 of the more petite pins displays an orb-shaped head with projecting circles and a hook. The third pin contains 34% silver and exhibits a conical head and incised body. Next, the 2 vessels each boast a concave, hourglass-form body with a flared circular rim, all sitting upon a ring-form base. Last, the wearable cuff bracelet presents a broad center and narrow termini that are each perforated for fastening. Size of largest (longest pin): 9.7" L x 0.8" Diameter (24.6 cm x 2 cm)

The exterior of the bangle has been skillfully incised with an intricate geometric decoration comprised of a central crisscross design surrounded by concentric rectangles of linear and zigzag striations, as well as floral motifs.

Cuff is wearable and repaired from 2 pieces with break line visible, minor losses to peripheries, and softening of incised detail. More petite jar has small area of restoration on rim. Both jars have chips to rims. Both jars have light areas of loss on rims. All have expected nicks, chips, and abrasions, commensurate with age and use or wear. Otherwise, all are very nice with rich patina throughout.
