Greece, Ionian, ca. 6th century BCE. A delightful terracotta lydion (perfume jar) with a narrow tubular base, a squat spherical body, a wide cylindrical neck, and a flat and flared rim. Lovely black and orange stripes cover the body, neck, and rim on top of a cream-hued base. Size: 2.7" Diameter x 4.5" H (6.9 cm x 11.4 cm)
Provenance: private La Crescenta, California, USA collection; ex-Artemis Gallery, Louisville, Colorado, USA, January 29th, 2018, lot 16; ex-private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired prior to 1970
