Description
Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan culture, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A cast-bronze mace head of cylindrical form with a pair of flared end rings as well as a bulging knob. Surrounding the knob are several vertical ribs enclosed with parallel grooves, and the entire weapon is covered in layers of naturally-formed patina in green and brown hues. Size: 6.75" L x 1.7" W (17.1 cm x 4.3 cm)
