Carved wood folk art figure from Hawaii in the form of a Hawaiian idol or Tiki. Possibly made as a personal amulet for home use. Worn, shiny, darkened patina to the surfaces from handling. Mounted on a recent plexiglass stand.

Late 19th or first half of the 20th century.

Height (figure alone): 6 7/8" (17.5 cm)

Height (on stand): 9 1/2" (24 cm)

PROVENANCE: Hawaii estate sale, 2001.

CONDITION: Overall good condition with a darkened worn patina, glossy surface in places. Paint splatters. Age splits to the wood and small losses to the surface layer of wood at the back of the head.
