Description
North Pacific, Hawaiian Islands, Hilo, ca. 1977 CE, signed by Dan De Luz on base. A hand-carved koa wood bowl of ovoid form with exquisitely polished surfaces and attractive wood grain. A wonderful example made from wood of the flowering Acacia Koa tree. Interestingly, in the Hawaiian language, the word koa means fearless warrior. Size: 15.9" L x 7.3" W x 2.875" H (40.4 cm x 18.5 cm x 7.3 cm)
