Beautifully patinated tapa beater, square in section, the faces engraved with graded levels of ridges on each side to allow for different strengths of beating.
*Davies was an important figure in 19th Century Hawai'i, the founder of the "Big 5" firm bearing his name, a prominent member of the Episcopal Church and the guardian of Princess Kaiulani.
