WALKING STICK OF GENERAL ROBERT NEILL, 1884
American, late 19th century. Cane with gold cap incised and inscribed "General Robt, Neill, From his Friends, August 30th, 1884" on an ebonized wooden shaft.

Probably belonging to one Civil War veteran Robert Neill (1838?1907), commander of the fifth military district in Arkansas after Reconstruction, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and the first chairman of the Arkansas Railroad Commission.
Full length: 26.2 in. (66.5 cm.)
