Confederate General Robert Hoke CDV
Carte de visite portrait of Major General Robert Hoke, measuring 2.45" x 3.9", Ca. 1862, n.p. Chest-up portrait of Hoke in uniform, adorned with gilt detailing to edges. Minor toning on front and back, with clipped corners. Bold backstamp on verso. Overall very good condition.
Robert Hoke (1837-1912) fought in several majors battles during the Civil War, such as the Second Battle of Bull Run and the Battle of Antietam. He was later promoted to major general in 1864 after he and his troops captured a garrison of 2,800 Union soldiers at the Battle of Plymouth.
