Description
An envelope cover signed, dated, and inscribed by British Conservative politician Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881), as "1838 / London June twenty five / William Stuart Esqr / Ryde / Isle of Wight / B Disraeli" at center. Encapsulated and PSA/DNA graded NM 7. With a red crowned datestamp near right. Trimmed and laid down on a larger mount measuring 4.875" x 3.5." The slab measures 7.125" x 4.25."
This envelope cover is listed as Mopsik 216 in General editor M.G. Wiebe's "Benjamin Disraeli Letters, 1852-1856, Volume VI" (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1997), lxi, in a section containing pieces of early Disraeli correspondence that have not been located.
Benjamin Disraeli served two terms as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the first between February and December 1868, and the second between 1874-1880.
