Early Broadside Ad, Stagecoach for Boston to Portland, 1807
Broadside, "Summer Establishment / for the / Accommodating Stages from Boston to Portland / Through Newburyport and Portsmouth", 1p, 14.5" x 20", Massachusetts, June 1, 1807. Newburyport: W. & J. Gilman, 1807. At top, a fantastic woodcut illustration of four horses drawing a carriage, signed in print within the image, "J. Atkins". Document has been collaged and placed on a backing sheet. Creasing with separation and loss at same. Marked discoloration with staining and soiling. Beautifully matted and framed to an overall size of 21" x 26.5".
