U.S. Grant Lot of 6 Cartes de Visites, Ca. 1860-1868
A grouping of six cartes de visites, all relating to 18th President Ulysses S. Grant, which spans his time as Civil War General and later as Republican presidential candidate [ca. 1860-1868]. All exhibit expected levels of surface toning, soiling, and light foxing throughout, with areas of isolated creasing and minor tearing to some. The lot includes:
1.) General U.S. Grant with long beard, ca. 1860. Published by E. Anthony of New York. 2.5" x 4".
2.) Lieutenant General Grant at City Point, Virginia, ca. 1864. featuring clipped corners. 2.5" x 4".
3.) Headquarters of Lieutenant General Grant at City Point, Virginia. Undated, mounted within CDV album page [removeable]. 5.75" x 4.75".
4.) Lieutenant General U.S. Grant with mourning armband for Lincoln's funeral, ca. 1865. 2.5" x 3.75".
