Description
Lovely Lincoln CDV, Seated (After Gardner) & White House Ca. 1865
A pair of two cartes de visite relating to President Abraham Lincoln, each measuring 2.5" x 4", ca. 1861 & 1865. The first depicts President Lincoln, seated next to a small table in Brady's National Portrait Gallery, taken from a negative originally captured by Alexander Gardner in 1861. This particular image would mark the President's first sitting in Washington. The second depicts a front view of the White House, featuring the copyright backstamp of "Kertson & Fordham", secured November 18, 1865. General age toning and scattered staining present; light bumping to corners. Overall, very good.
