(content regarding the fall of Cornwallis to Washington at Yorktown) "...the united force of Washington and De Rochambeau had already lain near six weeks on the White Plains...That Sir Henry Clinton had every inducement to attempt to dislodge them...In order to act with more vigour for the relief of Lord Cornwallis he drained New York of its regular forces...And Sir Henry, after his provisions were expended, would only, by his own surrender, make Lord Cornwallis's the third, instead of the second army, we have lost in America...And let us never forget, that the Independence of America is the ruin of Great Britain. "...He did not wish to have no army; but how could he trust an army to the hands of the present Ministers; unless he wished to see it surrendered up to Washington? One army was lost at Saratoga, another at York Town; and God only knew what third place would be finalized by the loss of a third army..."
