Pair of Chinese Yellow Red Glazed Cranes Porcelain Gourd Bottle Vases. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slightly concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in red color which contrast against yellow color, depicted of flying cranes through cumulus clouds and trigram Pakua pattern. The crane symbolizes longevity as well as wisdom. An embroidery of a crane formed part of the regalia of the top rank of Imperial officials, so can symbolize the wish for promotion to a high official position.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
