A Chinese yellow ground red glaze gourd porcelain vase

Ming dynasty, Wanli period

The vase is in the shape of a treasure gourd, with a small mouth, short neck, small upper abdomen, larger lower abdomen, waist waist, and round feet. Red glaze is applied to the outside of the bottle, decorated with yellow glaze flower patterns, the glaze is bright and even, the glaze is smooth and smooth. The gourd-shaped bottle is a traditional shape in ancient Chinese ceramics. The gourd is actually known as the homophony of "Fu, Lu", which symbolizes the prosperity of all generations.

PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
