Hand written Civil War letter. Capture of 1776 American revolutionary flag from Spy house J. Stirbs. 2 page letter by Capt. Louis Wageley New York Infantry. Letters starts Camp Upton November10th 1863 my birthday. My Dear Freind John. Through Corparal Charles Wilson of my company who has care of an revolutionary Flag which I took in Plymouth N. C. Sometime ago in the house I was Quartered while station there. I prodent that flag to you in commenoration of the Your "Other Half" under the condition that flag will be past in the Sanctions of the spy office where the eye of Argues sends Farth its rays. Letter goes on. Fold marks. Good condition.
