Fantastic Helen Keller & Her Teacher, Anne Sullivan Macy Signature.
Helen Keller & Anne Sullivan Macy signature on a folded cream-colored sheet. Inscribed by Keller "Very sincerely yours", dated August 1929 and boldly signed, "Helen Keller." Just below the date, is the signature of Anne Sullivan Macy, Keller's instructor and lifelong companion. Expected folds from mailing and accompanied by the original mailing envelope, dated August 20, 1939 which was addressed to Harriette Kinney of Mystic, CT. 6.5" x 5.125".
Helen Adams Keller was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer. Born in West Tuscumbia, Alabama, she lost her sight and her hearing after a bout of illness at the age of 19 months.
Anne Sullivan Macy was an American teacher best known for being the instructor and lifelong companion of Helen Keller. At the age of five, Sullivan contracted trachoma, an eye disease, which left her partially blind and without reading or writing skills.
