William Heath Superb Signed Document
Partially Printed Document Signed, “W. Heath”, as Judge of the Probate of Wills, 1p, on Commonwealth of Massachusetts letterhead, 7.75" x 12.5", Dedham, July 3, 1810. Docketed at verso. Paper-covered wax seal at the top left. Folds with separation, a 2.25” separation at the central horizontal fold, light toning, minor creasing, else in very good plus condition.
In the here offered document, Heath appoints Charles Hamant as an administrator of the estate of the late Asa Hamant, who died without a will.
William Heath (1737-1814) was an American farmer, soldier, and political leader from Massachusetts who served as a major general in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. After the war, Heath was a member of the Massachusetts Convention that ratified the United States Constitution in 1788. He served in the Massachusetts Senate from 1791 to 1792, and as a probate court judge. In 1806, he was elected the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts but declined the office.
