1808 document signed by Governor of Virginia William H. Cabell, (1772-1853) granting parcel of land totaling 312 acres in Augusta County, Virginia, granted to Revolutionary War Captain, Samuel McCutchen Jr. (1744-1830.) Land bounderies are identified with reference to certain trees: White Oak, Black Oak, Spanish Oak, Locust, Chestnut, Hickory, a certain forked Walnut tree, etc. Signed by William H. Cabell in ink, lower right. Seal pinned to document, lower left. Creases, minor toning and foxing. Frame, approx. 21 1/2" x 19 1/2". Document, approx. 16 1/4" x 13 1/8".
