Manuscript document in ink. One page plus acknowledgement on verso of interest payment, with is signed by Livingston. 31.5x19 cm (12¼x7½"), ornately matted and framed under plexiglass along with portrait and engraved metal descriptive plaque. Overall 58.5x67.5 cm (23x26½").
William Livingston (1723-1790) served as the Governor of New Jersey (1776-1790) during the American Revolutionary War and was a signer of the United States Constitution. The present document describes in detail the debt owed him by Robert Pickeman, of 79 pounds, and Livingston as signed on the back acknowledging and interest payment of £5-18-6. There is a window on the back of the frame through which the signature can be viewed.
