Description

hand- and machine-stitched, red, white, and blue solid wool bunting fabric, featuring an American flag with 13 stripes and 45 applied stars, straight-line and outline quilting in dark thread, wide back-over-front binding, multi-panel dark blue backing. Flag 1896-1908; quilting and backing later. 61 1/2" x 85".
Provenance: The Americana Collection of Barbara M. and the late Charlie Hunter, Staunton, VA.

Condition

Very good overall condition, top with a few stains/spots, some scattered holes mostly small in size, backing with some light fading and soiling.
