Two Mycenaean pottery stirrup jars
Circa 1400-1300 B.C.
The larger piriform example tapering towards the base, the shoulder decorated with a flowerhead and radiating petals, the body with encircling bands fired orange, with vertical spout on the shoulder, the false-neck flanked by strap handles; the smaller example of squat form, decorated with encircling bands in umber fired orange in places, 19.5cm and 9.5cm high (2)
