A color photograph signed and inscribed by Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr. (born 1930), as "Buzz Aldrin / Apollo XI" in black felt tip pen in the margin at the lower right. This was based on the original NASA photograph, AS11-40-5874, taken of Aldrin by fellow astronaut Neil Armstrong as they explored the Sea of Tranquility region of the Moon on July 20, 1969. The modern reprint is printed on glossy Kodak photo paper. Expected superficial wear to the photo surface, else near fine. 8" x 10."

Buzz Aldrin served as the Lunar Module Pilot during the July 16-July 24, 1969 Apollo 11 mission, alongside Commander Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Command Module Pilot Michael Collins (1930-2021). Armstrong and Aldrin were the first humans to step onto the moon's gray and granular surface on July 20, 1969. While on the moon, the astronauts took photographs, placed a TV camera, collected geological samples, set up seismic and laser experiments, and even received a celebratory phone call from President Nixon.
