A color photograph excised from a book, signed and inscribed by Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr. (born 1930), as "Buzz Aldrin" in black felt tip pen at upper left. This was based on the original NASA photograph, AS11-40-5874, taken of Aldrin by fellow astronaut Neil Armstrong as they explored the Sea of Tranquility region of the Moon on July 20, 1969. Trimmed to a completed size of 7.75" x 9.75," and laminated. The book's Acknowledgments and Picture Credits sections can be found verso. Expected surface wear including light scuffs and a minor fold in the upper left corner, mentioned just for accuracy. Else near fine. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA Authentication Services Certificate of Authenticity, which corresponds to a holographic sticker with the same serial number, AA82851, affixed at the lower right.

Buzz Aldrin served as the Lunar Module Pilot during the July 16-July 24, 1969 Apollo 11 mission, alongside Commander Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Command Module Pilot Michael Collins (1930-2021). Armstrong and Aldrin were the first humans to step onto the moon's gray and granular surface on July 20, 1969. While on the moon, the astronauts took photographs, placed a TV camera, collected geological samples, set up seismic and laser experiments, and even received a celebratory phone call from President Nixon.
