Richard Nixon Signed Resignation Typescript
Richard Nixon pre-signed paper to which was added a mock souvenir typescript, August 9, 1974, 5" x 3", and boldly signed by President Nixon as "Richard Nixon." Written to the Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger, "I hereby resign the Office of President of the United States."
On the evening of August 8, 1974, President Nixon addressed the nation and announced his intention to resign. The next morning, White House Chief of Staff Alexander Haig presented this letter to President Nixon to sign.
