Richard Milhous Nixon (1913 - 1994) was the 37th President of the United States (1969-1974) after previously serving as a U.S. Representative and a U.S. Senator from California. Nixon successfully ended American fighting in Vietnam and improved international relations with the U.S.S.R. and China but he became the only President to ever resign office due to the Watergate scandal.
George Gordon McClintock, Vice Admiral USMS (1903 - 1990) was the longest-serving Superintendent of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, serving from 1948.
