3rd-4th century AD. A pale green glass cup with globular body, everted rim, circumferential applied zigzag trail, shallow pontil to base. See The Corning Museum of Glass, accession number 74.1.26, for similar style; see The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 74.51.197, for similar. 94 grams total, 85mm (3 1/4"). Property of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; acquired from a Sussex lady; previously in the private collection of Anthony John Scammell (1937-2019); acquired on the UK art market from 1960-2000.
