Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful free-blown, near-transparent glass vase of pale yellow-green hues with a slightly concave footed base and a smooth pontil scar, a spherical body which gradually tapers to a narrow cylindrical neck, a flared rim with a rolled lip, and a pair of applied trail handles. Gorgeous areas of rainbow iridescence envelop the body in a fiery palette of citrine, ruby, sapphire, emerald, and amethyst colors. A lovely example with a delicate composition and sophisticated presentation! Size: 2.875" W x 4.55" H (7.3 cm x 11.6 cm).

Condition
Surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, some jagged points on handles not caused from breakage, and light clouding across most surfaces, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits as well as rainbow iridescence throughout. Old inventory label beneath base.
