AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN, watercolor and pencil on paper, stylized waist-length depiction of subject with sideburns, wearing a patterned vest and high white stock with black necktie, all within an engraved Moorish-style surround, laid down on cardstock, no signature located, indistinct pencil inscriptions to pine backing board verso. Housed under glass in a period red-painted frame. Discovered in Northern Indiana. Mid 19th century. 7" x 6" sight, 9" x 8" OA.
Very good overall condition with minor to moderate toning and discoloration. Frame with minor wear.
