PAIR OF AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART MINIATURE PORTRAITS, watercolor on paper (each), likely brother and sister, she a curly-haired sitter in profile, wearing high-waisted Empire-style gown; he in profile wearing blue coat with brass buttons, no signature(s) located. Housed under glass in a 19th-century figured maple frame. Circa 1840. 4" x 3" sight, 6 3/8" x 5 3/8" OA (each).
Portraits in very good overall condition with light toning and discoloration, very minor areas of paper loss / insect grazing to one example. Frames with minor wear.
