An exemplary pair of original American Folk Art watercolor and pencil portraits on paper, circa 1830s. First portrait: A seated gentleman presenting a bird to his daughter, depicted in a white dress with blue ribbons. Second portrait: A well dressed mother and daughter with a King Charles Spaniel. Each is housed in a birds eye maple finished frame with gold gilt liner. Likely old Sotheby's sale with auction label for 2446/99. Good condition with mild surface wear, toning and fading. Wear and losses to frames. Measures 10 3/4 in. x 8 1/2 in. (sight), 16 in. x 14 in. (framed). Hill Auction Gallery in house continental USA shipping $85 plus insurance.
