Jason: inscribed verso Jason Goulding likeness, Taken at Holden, October 1825, aged 24
Agnes: inscribed verso Agnes Goulding, Taken at Holden, October 1825, who departed from this life March 3, 1826, aged 22 years
each: 26 1/2 x 22 1/2 in., frame: 29 x 24 in.
Provenance: By descent within the family of Jason Goulding.

Other Notes: Jason Goulding (October 26, 1801 - July 27, 1884) of Holden, Massachusetts, married Agnes Smith of Rutland, Massachusetts on March 14, 1825. Agnes died in childbirth following the birth of their son, Frederick. The coral necklace worn by Agnes in her portrait has been saved by the family, and accompanies the pair of portraits.
