AMERICAN OR BRITISH SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF A MAN, watercolor on paper, figure seated in a Classical-style rush-seat side chair, he sporting sideburns, black coat, and white vest, while clutching a pair of gloves in one hand, no signature located, old inscription to card attached verso. Housed in a period rosewood-veneered frame. Circa 1845. 6 1/2" x 5 3/4" sight, 10 1/2" x 9 5/8" OA.
Portrait with overall moderate toning, possible old tear/crease at lower edge. Frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
