Hand-painted porcelain mounted soldier figurine of Napoleon's Marshal Jean-Baptiste Bessieres astride a horse with gilded details and four gilded French Imperial eagles at the edges of the rectangular pedestal, made and marked at Scheibe Alsbach manufacturer in Germany. Jean-Baptiste Bessieres 1768-1813 was Marshal of the Empire and French military commander during the Napoleonic Wars and the French Revolutionary Wars.Scheibe-Alsbach is a former municipality of Thuringia, Germany, now a part of Neuhaus am Rennweg. A porcelain factory built there in 1835, specializing in the Napoleonic period historical figurines.
