Description
A German hand painted porcelain military figure by Scheibe Alsbach Porzellanmanufaktur. The composition depicts Joachim Murat riding a horse. The figure is covered with polychrome enamel and decorated with gilded accents. Mounted on a figural base featuring relief gilded images of birds with outstretched wings. Inscribed, Murat, on the front of the base. Marked with a blue ink manufacturer mark, and numbered L 33 8, on the backside. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Joachim Murat, 1767 to 1815, was a French military commander and statesman who served during the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars.
