Long thin arms, extended ribs and articulated vertebrae a common Taino theme denoting the metaphorical transition from human to skeletal state during cohoba transformation rituals. The secondary companion has the head turned backward. In this case each figure looks in opposite directions, a possible reference to duality or divine opposition. Extensively carved in an incredibly display of compositional balance and figural dialogue.
