Painted of a Woman on a November 6th, 1968 New York Times Newspaper. The work was owned and consigned by a local collector who wishes to remain anonymous, History: We are advised that the work came from De Kooning to his friend Mona Aaron (an Artist and Art Collector) to the Current owner who was a respected collector and a close friend of Mona Aaron. The work was reframed and remounted within the last 10 years. The work is fresh to the market and has not been submitted for the arduous, costly and time consuming process for seeking an authentication and therefore considered as an attribution to the artist.
