Il gesuita milanese Carlo Francesco Gianella (1740-1810), insegnante di fisica e matematica prima a Milano e poi a Pavia, si occupò nelle sue prime pubblicazioni soprattutto di calcolo infinitesimale, come in qiusta memoria sul calcolo delle flussioni; in seguito pubblicò diversi testi rivolti all'insegnamento delle matematiche.

The Milanese Jesuit Carlo Francesco Gianella (1740-1810), physics and mathematics teacher first in Milan and then in Pavia, dealt in his first publications above all with infinitesimal calculus, as in this memoir on the calculation of fluxions; later he published several texts aimed at teaching mathematics. Riccardi, I / col. 598, cites an edition of 1772.
