Questi 7 voll., costituenti la prima serie, includono tutte le memorie sparse pubblicate negli atti accademici, dall'Accademia delle Scienze di Torino a quella di Berlino, dal periodo giovanile alla maturità; tutti scritti di difficile reperibilità, dato il loro carattere sparso e occasionale. L'edizione "facilite considérablememnt la consultation d'une oeuvre qui a profondement marqué l'évolution des sciences mathématiques et théoriques dans la seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle et le premier tiers du XIXe siècle" Taton, p. 3.
