Description
1552 Aristotle Greek Philosophy De Natura Physics Psychology Science Mathematics
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” ― Aristotle
Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist who is regularly considered the ‘Father of Western Philosophy.’ His extensive writings cover a variety of topics from physics and zoology to metaphysics and psychology; and while many of his original thoughts have since been outdated or developed, he laid the foundation for a number of schools of thought, many of which were not expounded upon until the Enlightenment in the 18th-century.
‘De Natura’ was Aristotle’s collection of his natural philosophy ideas and studies on physics. This work, in addition to elements of astronomy and psychology, features content on mythology including Hercules and references to other important Greek philosophers such as Anaxagoras.
This mid-16th-century printing was edited by Joachim Perion, a French scholar who made his name by his translations of Aristotle.
