Description
**First Time At Auction**
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A mold-formed pottery oil lamp with a flat base, a narrow handle, and a circular body with a projecting wick spout. On the tondo is a faint raised image depicting Jupiter Dolichenus and Juno Dolichena, and remains of iron oxide are visible behind the central fill hole. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 4.625" L x 3.4" W (11.7 cm x 8.6 cm)
Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition
Minor abrasions to handle, base, and body, with softening to tondo and shoulder details, minor iron oxide around fill hole, and fading to pigment. Otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
