Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A fine mold-made terracotta oil-burning vessel that features an uneven yet stable base with an incised ring around it, steep rolling side walls, sharply-angled shoulders with three incised concentric rings, a deep recessed tondo which displays a myriad of laurel leaves in the center with a small fill hole, a stylized undulating neck, and a large wick spout. Size: 3.7" L x 2.625" W x 0.8" H (9.4 cm x 6.7 cm x 2 cm).
Provenance: private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired before 1970
