c. 1864 American Civil War Period Presidential Campaign, Hand-Carved Abraham Lincoln Portrait Wooden Walking Cane with a High-Relief Bearded President Lincoln Bust Portrait in Detail, Choice Extremely Fine.
This impressive original 36" tall Hand-Carved Wooden Walking Cane has an outstanding detailed High-Relief Profile Portrait showing the Bearded President Abraham Lincoln. Carved of two pieces of American walnut with a smooth decorated knob end, having a typical tapered shaft. There is no maker or date, the end tip has a 1.5" nickel-brass and steel ferrule with the initials "K. & H." stamped along the edge. The High Relief Portrait of Abraham Lincoln is carved on the upper portion of the shaft, 6" from the knob top, and the portrait is the width of one side of the cane. This cane is typical for the 1864 Presidential Campaign for Lincoln's second term.
