Description
This lot consists of a graphite illustration on paper, done in the style of Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890). "Vincent" is hand-written at bottom left corner of composition. Image depicts a humble peasant woman bent over at her work, on her feet the simple wooden clog of the Dutch people. This unframed piece measures approximately 11.5" x 8.25".
Vincent Willem van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890) was a major Post-Impressionist painter. He was a leading artist whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. His output includes portraits, self portraits, landscapes and still lifes of cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers. Van Gogh drew as a child but did not paint until his late twenties; he completed many of his best-known works during the last two years of his life. In just over a decade he produced more than 2,100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors, drawings, sketches and prints.

Overall fair condition. Some toning has occurred over time, as well as some light rippling. The image itself remains bright and clear. Please see photos for additional reference.
