This lot consists of a framed oil painting on canvas, done in the expressive style of Vincent Van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890). "Vincent" is hand-written at lower left corner of composition. Image is brimming with careful linework and creative style. A gorgeous depiction of a small potted plant, overflowing with life and verdant tone. This is the perfect example of the vivid, Post-Impressionist manner for which Van Gogh is so well respected. Vincent Willem van Gogh was a major Post-Impressionist painter. He was a Dutch artist whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. His output includes portraits, self portraits, landscapes and still lifes of cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers. Van Gogh drew as a child but did not paint until his late twenties; he completed many of his best-known works during the last two years of his life. In just over a decade he produced more than 2,100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors, drawings, sketches and prints.

Painting is in overall excellent condition considering the age of the canvas. Frame, paint and canvas are solid and free of damage. A dark line runs the length of the canvas on the far right side near the frame. This line is likely a discoloration from a previous framing. Overall this exceptional piece is in very good condition.
