A comprehensive collection of seventy items of vacation travel, all kept by a family of four traveling to Hawaii. The archive is a veritable "snapshot" of tourist life in 1969 Hawaii beginning with the family's complete travel itinerary while in Hawaii. Includes resort brochures from hotels such as The Waikikian, the Halekulani, and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Also included are tourist maps of Maui, a map of the ground of the Coico Palms resort on Kauai, a gas station road map, and others. There is also a souvenir booklet from a Mormon-sponsored Polynesian Cultural Center entitled Polynesia in a Day! by David W. Cummings.
Additionally, there are museum brochures, tourist guides, cruise-line brochures, a Hawaiian Airlines timetable, ship deck plan, and Hawaiian song booklet. Ephemeral items include souvenir postcards, cocktail menus, stationary, cruise ship newsletters from the Matson lines S. S. Lurline, shipboard menus and Hawaiian Airlines luggage tags. An excellent archive documenting the Hawaiian vacation experience in 1969.
